- Environmental improvement and protection through elimination of toxic chemical use.

- ECS' technology keeps cooling towers, boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, and related equipment in far better operating condition than traditional chemical treatment methods. This both significantly extends the useful life and substantially increases the operating efficiency of that capital equipment.
- Water Conservation – Cooling towers treated with traditional chemical methods will normally bleed off 400 to 1400 gallons of water per day for each 100 tons capacity, depending on such factors as climate and physical location. Bleed off is necessary so that chemicals will function properly, and to limit scale forming minerals in the water. The HydroPlex™ will reduce the necessity for bleed off by 10% to 20% (depending on water quality) because it treats the water with physics rather than chemicals which have hardness limits to be effective. Water savings of approximately 50,000 gallons per year can easily be achieved; and that is for every 100 ton capacity! Even a modest size tower of 500 tons can reduce water consumption by 250,000 gallons per year. These savings are calculated using a mid-latitude installation operating approximately 2200 hours per year. Towers in warmer latitudes, or towers used for process water applications will realize far greater savings.
- Energy Conservation – Accepted industry standards state that even a moderate accumulation of scale on chiller tubes (1/32") will retard heat transfer by 11%. (A 100 ton tower with a 1/32" scale accumulation, operating 18 hours per day for 180 days, with electricity at $.10 per kWh, will waste $3,500.00 per year.) This significant energy conservation also improves the environment while eliminating additional direct costs to the owner.
- ECS' technology, as it gains general acceptance, will likely be the largest individual contributor to energy conservation and pollution reduction of any single HVACR industry advancement.
- Carbon Emission Reduction – The EPA estimates that the electricity needed to operate a 100 ton cooling tower correlates to .12 metric tons of carbon per day. This equals 21 metric tons of carbon per 180 day cooling season. Using the above example, this equates to an additional 7 metric tons of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere if the chiller has only 1/32" of scale on the tubes. This calculation is for EACH 100 tons to chiller capacity.
- Increased water Solvency – reducing requirements for soaps and detergents, water treatment chemicals, fertilizers, etc. ECS' colloidal nucleation technology can increase the efficiency of water softeners by 20% and frequently eliminates the need for water softeners altogether.
- Previously scaled equipment is descaled in a short time, safely and economically, without the need for acids or mechanical cleaning methods.
